In the climactic conclusion to the 2025 ASB student elections, the running candidates gave their final words in speeches addressed to the entirety of the student body in the cramped gymnasium on April 10. In the opening ceremony before the speeches, and as a recognition of the money raised during the Pennies for Patients Fundraiser, junior Reagan Coates smacked Principal Matt Harvey in the head with a pie-an action met with the jubilant cheers of the crowd.

During the 30 minute period filled with speeches, candidates attempted a number of different strategies to sway the hearts of the crowd. From Jet Young’s promise of eradicating speed bumps and adding elevator music to bathrooms to Stacy Hickman’s repetition of her campaign slogan-”Don’t be a dum dum, vote for Stacy”-the candidates went all out with their originality. The candidate for secretary, Obadiah Stover, led the crowd in his rendition of the national anthem, a crowd favorite. Jared Hastain described the singing as awesome, “Most people seemed really happy, especially when Obi was doing the national anthem.”
The main event, the presidential speeches, challenged the presidential candidates who each delivered their best. Lowell Werblow III gave a heartwarming speech about helping students enjoy their time and high school, all the while making references to the recently released Minecraft Movie. On the other hand, Ian James was out with a fever and was unable to deliver his speech in person, so he had the current ASB vice president, Mark Kincheloe, give it for him. Katelyn Copper ended it with a bang, closing the rally by delivering the longest speech out of the candidates, speaking passionately about her personal connection to CORE and why she would be a good president.
