As we enter the final learning period, we are reaching the time of year when everyone is planning vacations or planning to make as much use of their free time as possible. People have projects, activities, vacations, and plans. So what is everyone up to this summer?! Let’s find out.
Students commonly have projects that are either simple or exceptional. Freshman Josh Iler says that “During the summer I want to go to the gym…” when asked why and what he wants to work out he says “Definitely arms and legs.” This is a common goal many students have, including Adrik Dyer who wants to be active this summer. A student with an even more common goal is Elijah Ordaz with his goal to “not die.” These students also wish to go on vacation, Josh saying “…Maybe go to Santa Cruz.” and Elijah saying “I’ll go to Mexico, maybe.” showing that students also enjoy going on trips.
During the summer, many students want to do activities on the water. Kyle Kambourian says that “I’ll be going lake surfing on Lake Oroville during the summer, it’s pretty riveting. ” and Drew Taylor says “we are gonna go fishing… Definitely going swimming.” where Adrik Dyer added “I’m definitely going fishing with Drew as well… of course swimming too.” Some students like Jett Young have other reasons to swim. He says that he tore his bicep and wants to make it better. When asked how he plans to make it better he says “swimming and stretching should help it recover.”
Some students are doing other activities than goals, vacations, or water activities. Kyle Kambourian says he’s “…replacing the transmission in my car. I’ve already researched so that I know what to do. Cars are pretty fascinating.” Luke Arnold plans on going camping where he does normal camping activities. A project that people should try more is Josh Iler’s main project. He says “This summer I want to do things I don’t like. That’s why I’m going to the gym and getting out of my shell.”
A few students are a lot less sure of what they want to do over the summer, are using the time to rest or are having smaller plans, so it is okay if you aren’t sure what you’re doing too. Henry Barron says, “sleeping in for sure, just hang out, I’m not totally sure.” Many of my responses were as simple as Drew Taylor, who said“…Probably play some games with friends.”.
Tons of CORE students are going out there to have some fun, you should too during the long break.
