The school lunches here at CORE are loved by some and leave something to be desired to others. Most students gave our lunches a low or mid rating, though the most common answer was a seven out of ten, so the data gives a mixed impression. What most commonly came up was people saying that the food was just “ok,” though many students pointed out the impressive amount of options. Students had more positive opinions about the quality of our breakfasts, but they noted that there were fewer options available in the mornings.
Some students felt the food was too dry or too plain. Dorian Dietz said the pizza “literally tastes like cardboard.” On the other hand, some students said that they actually like it a lot. An anonymous student said that the sandwiches “have way too much meat on them.”
CORE Insider interviewed 23 students for this survey. Four students said they do not eat school lunches. Those who do eat school lunches were asked to rate them on a scale of 1-10. No student rated the lunches a full 10 out of 10. Two students gave them one out of 10. But despite this, a fair number of students still like the lunch, and a good handful of the students commented on how the lunch ladies are always very nice and polite when serving the food.
