If you’ve been on YouTube in the last two weeks, I’m guessing that you’ve seen the Aerial Tramway emoji being spammed in the majority of YouTube shorts for no discernible reason. And I bet some of you are wondering why this is all over your shorts’ comments. But if you follow the clues, you can discover why this is happening…
On May 14th, 2025, John Casterline, or H1T1 as he is known on the internet, posted a video on YouTube claiming the Aerial Tramway Emoji is still the least-used emoji on the internet. In the video, he asked his subscribers to replace their normal emojis with the Aerial Tramway. Following this first video asking subscribers to use the emoji, Casterline posted another video the same day, marvelling at how insane the response was, and to keep using the Aerial Tramway Emoji.
On May 17th, 2025, Casterline discussed the meme’s virality, saying he didn’t expect it to get so big. people in other countries were making videos about the trend. This goes to show: sometimes something that starts tiny can snowball into something massive beyond your imagination.
