The Core Butte Lynx fought hard on the field last Tuesday afternoon but ultimately came up short in a tense penalty shootout against the Trinity Wolves. The September 2nd matchup ended in regulation with a 4 – 4 tie before Trinity pulled away in penalties by one point, edging the score to 5 – 4.
Our team showed resilience throughout the game, battling back to keep things even. Despite the loss, Zack, one of our players, said that he felt the “ref was fair.” The loss dropped CORE Butte’s overall record to 2 – 3, while Trinity improved to 3 – 4.
Despite the loss on Tuesday, the Lynx left the field knowing they could compete until the very last whistle. The result handed them their second defeat this season, leaving them looking to rebound quickly. They’ll get that chance today, as CORE Butte Faces Quincy at 4:00 p.m.
