Earlier today, CORE Butte’s Varsity Volleyball team came away with a big win, defeating Chester 3 – 1. After dropping the first set 14 – 25, they regrouped and stormed back to take the next three by scores of 25 – 18, 25 – 18, and 25 – 21.
Before the match, junior player Karisa Walborn predicted the team’s chances simply: “We have a strong enough team to win the game. We just have got to keep our energy up.” She was right, as CORE Butte dug in and turned the match around.
Leading the charge on the court was player Reagan Coates, who delivered a strong defensive performance and came up with big plays at key moments. After the match, she admitted, “I was nervous at first, but I trusted that this team is good at digging in and coming together and winning.”
The victory showed our team’s resilience and ability to fight back after a rough start, and they continue to build momentum as the season rolls on.
