After a week of rest, the volleyball team will be traveling north this Thursday, October 30, for the Division 4 NSCIF Volleyball Playoffs, to face the University Prep Panthers in Redding. The match is set for 7:00 p.m.
Both teams enter the postseason coming off wins. Varsity swept Burney at home last Thursday, 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-23). Meanwhile, University Prep had dispatched Anderson in straight sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-18.
The matchup won’t be an easy one for CORE. University Prep (27–8) has been dominant all season, ranking among the top programs in the section, having beaten the Lynx last season. But this year, CORE (18-7) looks sharper and more balanced than ever, making this a much closer contest.
No matter the outcome, Thursday’s match marks the final volleyball game of the season for CORE Butte, capping off what’s been one of their strongest years yet.
