Pennies for Patients is an annual fundraiser set up by CBHS to donate money to various good causes. In past years, the money raised has been sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and last year the Children’s Miracle Network. The fundraiser comes with multiple goals for the CORE community to reach. At $375, students get a schoolwide pizza party, $750 is an ice cream party, at $1,125 students get to pie Mr. Harvey, and at $1,500 we get a Cal Skate party.
The donations are done through each homeroom class, and are tallied up accordingly. Last year, we managed to get all the way to the Cal skate party, a great achievement for the entire CORE community.
As of March 4th, approximately $1,200 has been raised, meaning Mr. Harvey’s fate is sealed (with pie!). The jury is still out on if we will get to $1,500, but if last year was any indicator, it’s likely. It’s still running for two more weeks, making this story a developing one. Coverage will continue as the fundraiser progresses.
Funds raised as of March 4th.
