The Ratz In The Attic is a band composed of CORE students Obie Stover, Ian James, Jackson Dake, Cora Arvonan, Katie Schnieder, and Jack Stover. Although they play mainly rock music, they also dabble in “really chill, older kind of stuff,” or what Jackson calls “bland jazz.”
With the dynamic of a “dysfunctional family,” they like to compare themselves to the Thousand Pound Sisters. They have been together since the beginning of the semester and have performed twice in front of the school. Unanimously, they agreed that their favorite song to perform is “Maple Syrup” by the Backseat Lovers.
So, why “Ratz in the Attic,” you ask? They said that it not only sounded awesome, but that their music “sounds like rats crawling in the attic,” according to Obie.
Even though they’re having a blast playing together, they do not plan to continue next year, as some band members are graduating. However, you may see some members in different student bands.
