The CORE Butte softball team lost to Chester 16-0 in an away conference game on April 28.
Chester scored five runs in the first inning, two in the second, seven in the third, and two in the fourth.
CORE Butte finished with 0 runs on 1 hit. Sophomore Jody Beckley recorded the team’s only hit, going 1-for-2. The Lynx drew one walk and struck out five times.
In the circle, junior Mara Gonzalez pitched 3.1 innings, allowing 11 runs (7 earned) on 13 hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Junior Faith Rash pitched 0.2 innings, allowing five runs on two hits with one strikeout and two walks.
Defensively, CORE Butte committed six errors.
