It may seem absurd at first, but food scientists like Holly Blunkall have made it their life’s work to explore the intricacies of the culinary realm. What jobs are available in the field of food science?
“Food careers can involve healthcare, swallowing viscosities must be considered when preparing meals for some patients. Most food careers are in hospitality. There are a lot of careers in food science. It can even involve data analysis.”
How have you made a difference as a food scientist?
“I’ve been the executive advisor for Menus of Change for eight years. Really it’s about going through all the areas we are affected and talking about how we can get proper food to people in food deserts.”
How many different ways can an egg be cooked?
“There are about 100 ways an egg can be prepared. The folds in a chef’s hat represent represent the number of ways you have mastered preparing an egg.”
