This week on Tuesday:
At 4:00 p.m., the CORE Butte soccer team hosts the Loyalton Grizzlies. The Lynx come in 3–6, while Loyalton sits at 1–4–1. CORE Butte has dominated this matchup in recent seasons, winning ten straight against the Grizzlies, including a 4–2 victory earlier this year in August. Both teams were shut out in their last games. CORE Butte fell 7–0 to Paradise Adventist, and Loyalton dropped a 3–0 loss to Quincy, so expect both sides to come in hungry to bounce back.
Meanwhile, the volleyball teams will hit the road to face Burney later that evening. JV starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by Varsity at 6:30 p.m. JV enters at 5–6, while Burney holds a strong 14–3 record. Varsity sits at 14–6, and Burney’s varsity team is 10–11. CORE Butte will look to regain momentum after a tough loss to Redding Christian, leaning on leaders like Reagan Coates, Mara Gonzalez, and Macey Ascherman to set the tone.
Tuesday should be a strong test for CORE Butte on the field and the court.
