CORE doesn’t work like a normal school; almost all classes have an independent study option. Thanks to this, students often have free periods, allowing them to work independently while still on campus. Our campus is quite big, and there are a lot of spots to sit and do work. Which begs the question:Which study spots are best?
For those looking for some fresh air, there are tables outside, but they are almost always dusted with bits of tree, or rained on, or strafed by wind, and generally harder to work on, along with the internet problems that students have out there.
For those looking for sheltered studying, there are two places that always seem to have at least one student. The first is the upstairs bar, which stretches all the way across the balcony, facing away from classrooms and minimizing distractions. For those who prefer coziness over views, there is one particular corner downstairs that practically has its own little bubble for anyone who needs more privacy and wants to work in peace.
Even with these great study spots, CORE Butte is a rowdy school, and there will always be some noise and distractions anywhere you go.

My personal favorite are the couches down by Harvey’s office. Immaculate studying.
