On May 16, 2026, CORE students and their dates gathered at Lakeside Pavilion for Prom. With pearls, glitter, and enough glamour to make Gatsby jealous, this year’s 20s theme made it really ‘the bee’s knees.’ Everyone arrived looking quite ritzy, in spiffy tuxedos and an array of different colored dresses lit up the dance floor. A new addition, the outside viewpoint of the lake, made the dance feel more open and less crowded, allowing people to come in and dance or take their mocktails and enjoy the view away from the noise.
With the help of the photo booth, many special moments were captured with friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Not only was the night swell, but it had its wild moment. Senior, Obie Stover says, “A bunch of people were on people’s shoulders, they were gonna do a chicken fight.” Other attendees added that there was lots of crowd surfing and even a person doing the worm. Intoxicated by the lights and drowning in a sea of dancing people, the night did indeed seem straight out of the Roaring Twenties. Seniors seemed remorseful at the night’s end, their last prom. Senior Karisa Walborn said “It felt surreal, like it can’t truly be my last prom.”
Prom court winners crossed the dance floor in front of the crowd, receiving their sashes and crowns that were well earned. Prom King was Brian Patton. Prom Queen was Gracie Rabo. Prom Prince and Princess were Devon Stewart and Liz Stewart.
