CORE Butte’s cross country team competed at the CIF Northern Section Finals on Thursday, November 13 at West Valley Early College High School. Boys’ varsity finished 8th out of 21 teams, led by sophomore Luke Schooling (17:45.30, 31st) and senior Adrik Dyer (17:57.60, 35th). Others contributing to the boys’ team score included seniors Brian Patton (18:41.30, 57th) and freshman Lance Tennis (18:46.50, 59th), plus freshman Josiah Haselton (20:23.80, 107th).

On the girls’ side, the varsity team placed 7th overall, anchored by senior Brianna Hayes, who finished 2nd with a time of 18:35.95. Also contributing: senior Katelyn Copper (21:53.95, 30th), senior Amanda Mabie (22:51.32, 38th), senior Katelyn Merrick (23:57.40, 62nd), and senior Eliana Feather (24:54.62, 79th).

While the section finals marked a strong finish to this phase of the season, the Lynx are not done yet. The next major milestone is the CIF State Cross Country Championships, to be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Woodward Park in Fresno.
