Varsity Boys – Maxwell Tournament (Game 3)

CORE Butte closed out the Maxwell Tournament on Saturday with another difficult matchup, this time against the Williams Yellowjackets. They fell 70–41, finishing the tournament 0-3 and extending their season start to 0-7, a 7-game losing streak.

The loss mirrors CORE’s earlier result against the Yellowjackets last season, when Williams also came out on top. The Lynx will now turn their focus toward their upcoming away game against Biggs on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Varsity Girls – Oroville Tournament (Game 3)

In their third and final game of the Oroville Tournament, CORE Butte struggled to generate offense and took a 40-13 loss to Corning. It was the lowest scoring total of the season for the Lynx, who finished tournament play 0-3 and now sit at an even 3-3 overall.

Corning, entering on a four-game losing streak, broke through with a decisive performance, while CORE never found a consistent rhythm on either end of the floor. The girls are back on the road on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., along with the varsity and JV boys, against hosting Biggs.
